Our preschool program prepares children for kindergarten by teaching foundational literacy and math skills. Our Pre-K4 “Dolphins” learn letter/sound relationships, sight/word recognition and basic mathematical functions. We also provide a character education program to nurture important social and emotional skills such as listening, understanding feelings and resolving conflicts. This well-rounded program encourages continued skill development in the arts and creative expression.
As a precursor to kindergarten, children learn letter/sound relationships, begin sight/word recognition and start to employ the use of critical thinking skills to make predictions.
With any eye toward kindergarten, teachers introduce children to addition and subtraction problems, patterns, graphs, reasoning and problem-solving.
Character education is introduced at this stage as we teach children to express feelings verbally and to act appropriately.
Fine motor skills are further developed as children practice jumping rope, use a hula hoop and throwing a ball to a target with an eye toward accuracy.
Children begin to identify the pitch and tempo found in music, create 3D shapes from clay and act out familiar stories sequentially.
Children explore various animal species, study different cultural traditions and compare family traditions to each other.
